‘The future of construction is remote’: how the industry is preparing for a digital future
Accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic, digital transformation in construction is here. After a halt on construction in Singapore, a safe way to restart work was necessary. Hubble, together with BCA, constructed the BuildSG-CovidSafe platform (based on the Hubble Platform) that allowed work to continue safely. Hubble also provided Woh Hup, one of Singapore’s largest and oldest privately owned construction and civil engineering companies, with the catalyst to press on with digitalisation efforts. Woh Hup also said the Hubble Platform solves one of the most crucial pain points in the industry, which is skilled manpower shortage. It was able to circumvent that by employing future-tech such as drones and an automated project management system.
